Made it big fighting Rocky, but was also in the original Predator film, and more recently in The Mandolorian series. Apparently he also had a small role in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Two iconic roles. He also played American football for the Raiders under the legendary John Madden. But acting was his first love. Imagine he was something else.

I love Carl Weathers. He was phenomenal as Apollo Creed. I was ten when I saw Rocky... it is still one of my favorite movies. I love the untold and supposed story of Apollo Creed told in juxtaposition to Rocky's. At the top of his profession, at the point of making generational money, and at the point of deciding the next phase of his life Apollo becomes Rocky's foil, but not the villain. That's a fine line to walk. He made me laugh as Chubbs in Happy Gilmore. I imagine Carl had quite a fantastic amount of self esteem and humility to play a bizarre caricature of himself in Arrested Development.
