The show was announced in April 2023, but has recently been stated to begin in 2026. It is proposed to be seven seasons over seven years to be another telling of the seven books with Harry Potter and co.
So far the only concrete parts are the producers. No writers nor actors as of yet. They're
A show offers many possibilities. Many characters had ther qualities diminished and some characters were omitted due to time constraints. Ron, Ginny, the Creeveys, Cho, and Firenze are examples.
Also, it is a chance for JKR to insert implied events into the story. I think Hermione sending her parents away right after Cedric's death is one of these. On the other hand, it could allow JKR to change the story and events like George Lucas has done with Star Wars.
They could also bring in other aspects of the wizarding world that have been introduced in supplemental books and Grindelwald movies. Not that I really want this...
I think they'd cast with an eye to developing further shows..... like Fred and George's careers, a Tonks prequel, or Charlie Weasley in a Steve Irwin role, or the Adventures of Intrepid Reporter Luna Lovegood, etc.....
The big question is whether the show will try to faithfully stick to the text or expand and try and tell new stories in the mix?
What do you think?
