This book about a carnival with a twisted history was a good read, one of his best so far. And I like the author's afterword, how he describes the book's genesis, (to quote Koontz "I was not receiving peanuts for my own novels...but had worked my way up to compensation in cashews") and how the film killed the book dead (it was released as a paperback as by Owen West and went massive, till the film came out)

Never seen the film (made by mr Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which I watched recently for the first time) but I'll be keeping the book.
The next 'Owen West' book is The Mask, which I have, and so...
