Feist is my comfort read and I've read most of his books ( probably all) from Magican to Magician's End; the Empire trilogy co written with Janny Wurts and the other collaborations.
Faerie Tale something completely different from his other works.
He's not the best writer and can be generic, he has made mistakes with timelines and forgotten who currently sits on throne, etc,
but he tells a good tale and I do care for the characters.
I wasn't sure about this one, I had said goodbye to Pug and Midkemia with Magician End. I looked forward to his new venture Firemane trilogy. Set on a different world and new characters. During the third book there was massive clues that he was taking us back to Midkemia, confirmed at the end of book.
I was worried how he would introduce Pug's return ( he was killed) or would he forget he'd done this and hope the reader would also forget.
The epilogue of Magican End, Magnus went to Crydee and met a young boy.
Turns out he is the reincarnation of Pug, he's not aware of this but now his memory is starting to return.
I've only just started and so far enjoying.
