25000 high resolution scans have resulted in a fascinating new view of Ernest Shackleton's ship as it lies 3km down at the bottom of the Weddell Sea. The detail is incredible with an old boot and flare gun visible amongst the wreckage. As for the ship itself, it seems to be fairly intact despite spending more than a century beneath the waves. I'm no expert but I'd guess this is because the ship is mostly of wooden construction. It looks in much better shape than the rusting hulk of the Titanic.
Endurance: Shackleton's lost ship as never seen before
A new 3D scan shows Endurance exactly as it is 3,000m down in Antarctica’s icy waters.
