Very interesting. Though an oddly written article. For example:
They were looking for spherule particles, or tiny fragments of rock, left behind by impact. Using sledge hammers, they collected hundreds of kilograms of rock and took them back to labs for analysis. Prof Drabon stowed the most precious pieces in her luggage.

That would never get by RyanAir :)

And the really sad part is , here we are reading about it second it hand. Why can't such a momentous event happen in out lifetimes? It's so unfair :(
