I'd never heard of this before.
I was reading this article
It reports on the trial of a new navigation system using laser cooling. This, it says, would not be as susceptible to interference as other methods. It talks about it being more reliable than GPS. I'm assuming that GPS, being satellite based, will be a prime target for any agressor. Taking out the satellites could cause navigation problems. This laser cooling system apparently is operating at the atomic level, providing precise navigation and timing (PNT).
Here's the wiki on laser cooling. The tech heads that come up with this stuff never ceases to amaze me.

Royal Navy successfully trials un-jammable navigation tech
The trials represent a significant step forward in maintaining Royal Navy capabilities globally, even under GPS-denied conditions.
