Bad Movie Science

Star Wars. Take your pick. They all ignore the rules of Newtonian physics. They're still fun, though. Sometimes.
All science fiction where the spacecraft have speculative drives ignore Newton. And they should.

I wish the stuff in Highlander about the age of the sword wasn't so awful. No one was producing samurai swords in 593 BC because there were no Japanese people for another 200 years.

How about one from a Western?

In The Legend of the Lone Ranger (1981), Tonto tells the Lone Ranger to use silver bullets because they're more accurate.

Even had this film a good script and story , it wouldn't made it at the box office because at that time, Westerns were largely out of favor with movie audiences.

Battle Beneath The Earth

Used to be on all the time when I was a kid (or so it seemed). Rogue Chinese general burrowing under US cities to place atomic bombs. Cue cops getting called to a 'listening disturbance' (really!?) with a scientist with his ear to the sidewalk claiming that he can hear tunnelling noises "Just like ants".

This kind of brings to mind Transatlantic Tunnel 1935 a British science fiction film in which they build a transatlantic tunnel. It's not well known film sad because it quite amazing as are the visuals and sets. You can find it on YouTube.

Those tricorders were amazing. They could tell you anything you wanted to know. "Lifeforms 300 meters in that direction." "His kidneys have failed." "Breathable atmosphere." "Pizzas are 10% off this week, with coupon."

And they can predict winning lottery numbers .;)
