I'm not sure if this should be in the "book search" section.

Does anyone know of any novels that include well-written car chases? I can imagine them being popular in thrillers but not carrying easily from screen to page, as the sense of speed and movement would be hard to emulate. The only well-written one I can think of is the hearse scene from A Rage In Harlem by Chester Himes, which isn't really a chase as such.

I did enjoy the car chase in the book Enigma, but mainly that was because it was down Watling Street to Bletchley past where I lived at the time of reading. I could follow the chase very well in my mind but I seem to remember he got some details wrong.
