I've read maybe three of these books, but a few years ago and I'd like to know how the series turned out .
What I remember, mainly from one book but I did read others:-

There's like a spy woman who was crossing an airport concourse when somebody recognised her and tried to start a conversation, she denied knowing them and hurried off.
Backstory now reveals she's frantic with worrying because this is her home base airport and she'd dropped her guard and had no disguise because she wasn't actively operational, she'd been on a holiday.

She's worried because she spends her time helping people escape from abusive relationships or dangerous situations and now a clue to her home area might be out there.

It turns out that happens and the bad guys come hunting, they want to make her reveal where she spirited someone away to.
Various shenanigans take place with false documents and driving long distance car chases etc, the other books are in a similar vein, I might well have read them out of sequence btw.

Maybe a woman writer

Anyone?

More a recommendation really as I'm sure it's not it, but Dave Hutchinson's Cold Water, a standalone book from his Fractured Europe series has similar elements. They're all good reads if you dont mind the weird alternate universe stuff.

It's not the one but I've looked at the blurbs for his books and I think I'll try one - Cheers
