Boston based agents/publishers for SciFi

2025 will be the year I finish my novel. I'm a rank outsider with no industry contacts. I live near Boston and was wondering if folks have worked with any Boston based agents/publishers who I could cold call about my book? The story is character driven space fiction.

I'm only limiting myself geographically because, this being my first work and all, I'd prefer to see the people face to face. I'm not a great conversationalist, just old fashioned in some respects.

Congratulations on getting so far with your novel.
Before you start approaching agents or publishers, I'd recommend asking a professional editor to take a look at the full manuscript when you think it is really ready, or at least the first three chapters as that would be cheaper - and you could then apply lessons learned to the rest of the manuscript. John Jarrold in the UK is an agent and former editor of a sf imprint and would be one place to go. I'm sure other people would recommend other editiors.
