Hello all,
I’ve been trying to remember the name of a fantasy book series I read some time ago, and I’m hoping someone here can help me out. Here are all the details I can remember:
It is not one of Raymond E. Feist books.
Thanks so much!
I’ve been trying to remember the name of a fantasy book series I read some time ago, and I’m hoping someone here can help me out. Here are all the details I can remember:
- The World:
The main character starts in a world where magic is rare and difficult to acquire. Magic is not a common thing, and those who can wield it are few and far between. - The Protagonist’s Journey:
At some point, the protagonist travels to other worlds where magic can be more accessible or more powerful, and they learn how to use it effectively. This new world offers a stark contrast to their original world where magic is so limited. - Teaching at a School:
The protagonist becomes a teacher at a school at some point, where they’re passing on knowledge. Technology plays a big part in the story as he comes from a world with few magic they learned to use technology instead, and the protagonist teaches students about it. - Mechanical Beetle:
One of the things I remember most clearly is that the protagonist creates a mechanical beetle (or some kind of mechanical creature) that helps him in his journey. It might not be a central element of the plot, but it’s an important part of the protagonist’s ingenuity and use of both magic and technology. - Themes:
The series blends magic and technology seamlessly, with the protagonist using both to solve problems, defend against enemies, and manipulate the world around him.
It is not one of Raymond E. Feist books.
Thanks so much!
