A couple of years back I read an extremely dark (pedophilia and child murder) novel called The Crow Girl. Apparently Paramount are releasing it as a 6 part TV series. I would imagine it has been sanitised considerably from the original (Scandinavian) book by Erik Axl Sund.
The book is certainly not for the faint of heart, either from the content or the length 750 pages.
But if you are up to it and the kids are in bed it should be a powerful series

ps Oh Dear, I checked the trailer and it is just talking heads that wouldn't pull anyone in, they also seem to have relocated the very Scandinavian story to Britain. I suspect they have destroyed it but time will tell.
The book? I recommend. The series? Having seen the extraordinarily bland trailer, I am not so confident.
Has anyone else here read the book?

My worst fears confirmed :(

"But [writer] Milly Thomas has done the most exquisite job of transferring what was in the book [from Swedish duo Jerker Eriksson and Håkan Sundquist, who write under the pen name Erik Axl Sund]," which is "very, very different" to the source material.
"Hopefully you will see how different it is when you watch it and agree that it's in a much better place for telly," she added."

Sometimes I'm glad I don't have a TV, it saves me the trouble of having to find things to throw at it.
