Saw a trailer for Avowed, and if it's an open-world RPG then it definitely could be interesting. However, won't be buying any new games soon, so it would be great to hear from any others who might play this, and see what they thought of the game.

Yep me too! Would love to hear an opinion.
I won't be buying many games at all for a while as well (my 2015 augmented PC is starting to show its age with all the new stuff coming through! I daren't look at what it might cost to get a rig that's higher spec now )
From the reviews I've seen they are saying it's a bit like Obsidian's other title The Outer Worlds. Which I found fun and well-made, but....it's not open world (in a Skyrim/Fallout/Big Assassins Creed sense - which I do like). tOW quickly felt empty to me, and I have never felt the urge to go back and revisit it after completing it. So if Avowed does seem to be on The Outer World lines, that would probably dampen my enthusiasm for it.

I found this gameplay video and also a review. Looks like Skyrim on steroids to me. Not that that's a bad thing, I enjoyed Skyrim. Avowed looks fun but I'm not going to go and buy a whole new PC just for one game.
