Henry Kuttner was an American author of science fiction, fantasy and horror, both as short stories and novels.

His first work published was a poem, Ballad of the Gods (1936) in Weird Tales magazine, followed by The Graveyard Rats (1936).

He was the husband of C. L. Moore. From 1937, they worked together in close cooperation, also using pseudonyms. They met through their association with the "Lovecraft Circle", a group of writers and fans who corresponded with H. P. Lovecraft. Initially, Kuttner thought C. L. Moore was a male author.

They are best know for their Galloway Gallagher series as Lewis Pagett, collected as Robots Have No Tails and were one of John W. Campbell’s stable of authors. After 1950, they wrote mystery novels and less SFF together.

He is another of the authors whose work has quite often appeared in the queries in our SFF Chronicles Book Search forum, an indication that it is remembered with some fondness.

Kuttner was a huge influence on the young Ray Bradbury, along with other writers who have acknowledged their debt to him.
