Science of Discworld

Neither.

In the first book, it shows the wizards of UU in a freezing winter. Ponder Stibbons proposes the idea of the thaumic reactor which kinda goes bad. But HEX saves the day by creating the Roundworld Project...

Or us.

It looks at the science of our world by using the wizards, so it is neither one or the other. They're interesting reads.

TSOD covers the creation of the universe, the solar system and so forth. TSOD 2 covers the evolution of the 'mind' from 'mindless' creatures, while TSOD 3 covers evolution.

I've read the first two and I'm in the middle if the third. I really enjoyed the others even though I'm not a scientist! Some of the ideas were really inspiring and exciting, especially in the first book with all the quantum going on :) I was not that impressed with the acctual stories but they were used well to link the science together and compare Discworld science with Roundworld science.

Maybe I'm strange but I found it quite comforting thinking that the wizards are in charge of our world!

If you find it comforting that the wizards control this world, you're slightly strange--after all, we elect people just like the wizards to public office...:D
