Press release #38: Interaction announces day admission rates
Glasgow, Friday June 3
Day admission rates confirmed – Major events occurring throughout the weekend – Single admission price includes all attractions, autographing sessions and programme items.
Interaction, the 63rd World Science Fiction Convention has announced its day admission rates for science fiction fans who wish to sample the unique Worldcon experience but are unable to attend the event for the full five days. The confirmed day rates are as follows:
Thursday, August 4th: £25 Adult / £5 Child (includes admission to film preview of “Howl’s Moving Castle”)
Friday, August 5th: £30 Adult / £10 Child (including admission to Play)
Saturday, August 6th: £40 Adult / £10 Child (includes admission to Masquerade)
Sunday, August 7th: £40 Adult / £10 Child (includes admission to Hugo Awards Ceremony)
Monday, August 8th: £25 Adult / £5 Child
Day admissions may be purchased on the door at the convention, or pre-purchased through Interaction’s web site from Monday 13 June.
Interaction has also confirmed its revised full attending membership rates, which will apply from 1 July 2005 and on the door at the convention. These rates cover the entire five days of the convention and will be set at £120 Adult and £32 Child. Those aged between 7 and 15 on 4 August 2005 qualify for Child admission. Infants, six years old and below may enter free of charge. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
“We believe that these prices represent excellent value,” says Convention Co-Chair Colin Harris. “On the peak days we will have three video tracks, 12 parallel programme tracks, major events, dealers' room, art show, fixed exhibits and more. You would pay similar prices or more for a two hour rock concert, a football match or even a meal in a fine restaurant. And of course all of the major events are included in the single admission price, along with author readings, signing sessions and programme.”
The convention will host several major events over the weekend including a play by local playwrights Ian Sorensen and Phil Raines on the Friday night, a masquerade competition on the Saturday night and the Hugo Awards ceremony on the Sunday night. Those wishing to attend for specific events should check the convention web site for further details.
