What about Calis? He is the cooler, younger, partially elvish version of Tomas.

Calis is a pale version of an Elf/Dragon Lord/Human... He is a hybrid, and therefore likely to suffer with some parts of his being...

If Pug and Thomas met on the plains of Sethanon... And Pug had no connection to either Kelewan or to the god he avatars for, and Thomas wasn't within Elvandar... Then is would be a stalemate... They are both very powerful, and would do a lot of damage...

But half of Pugs power comes from Kelewan, and half of Thomas power comes from Elvandar...

Without those two entities boosting either ones power, they'd just make a helluva mess!!! :D

And tragically doomed to be welcomed nowhere...

He isn't an elf... And not likely to inherit the throne of Elvandar...
He isn't a Dragon Lord... They wouldn't be allowed to live...
He isn't a human...

He isn't likely to be as long lived as the Elves and Dragon Lords, therefore would he live as long as his father??? Or if he lived longer, would he inherit the title of Warlord of the Elves???

Ah, such questions!!!

You mean when Calis saved the Elf Maiden and her twins from Novindus???

I think that was in Shards of a Broken Crown...

I suspect that Calis is part of the Conclave, as are most of Pugs inner circle of friends - excluding most of the magic users on the island of Stardock...

There will be several of the races of Elves and Dwarves involved... Maybe the Royal family of The Kingdom of the Isles and more than a few of the court at Krondor...

[EDIT]Thought as this was a completely separate discussion about another character, that I'd split it off into a new thread...

Even though it says edited by me in all the posts above, that was just to change the title of the thread, no changes were made to the content of the posts... :D

the ability to change the title of a thread, create a whole new thread with posts already in it.

thats true power. :)

And the power to edit posts that are a little naughty, and the POWER to ban the transgressor... Even better, banning an IP address range from EVER creating acounts... ;)

Anyhoo... Back to the thread!!!

What do you believe Calis will do with his life???

We know he married the elf and is bringing her twins up as his own.He could be used as some sort of ambassdor for the Conclave to liaise with the Kingdom,he was in charge of the Eagles of Krondor for a long time.Doesn't he hold the title of Duke?.
Calis you don't want to be a mod it would mean having to hang out with people like The Master:D

There isn't a great deal mentioned about Calis and his life...

There is speculations that can be drawn from the various parts he is mentioned in... He does seem to spend a lot of time on Novindus... With his band of forlorn hope... :D

Does he hold the title of Duke??? I thought he held a rank in the Kingdom Army of the West, from Krondor... Something like Knight-Captain... Need to read those books again... Rise of a Merchant Prince through to Shards of a Broken Crown... :D

And what does nixie mean by that slur on my good name??? Calis would be honoured to hang around with a degenerate like me!!! :D I don't think you know me well enough to have a pop... ;) But that can be changed... BWAHAHAHA!!!

I think it was simply "The Captain". (of Calis Crimson Eagles?)

Wouldn't mind re-reading that series either... feels like its been forever.

Actually, it was simply "The Captain" when he was the leader of the mercenary company in Novindus, because that's how they addressed the leaders of the various mercenary companies which were common there.

It's been a while since I've read the Serpentwar books. Right now, I'm re-reading the Empire series that takes place on Kelewan, focusing on Mara of the Acoma. I'll probably jump back to the Riftwar after I finish this because they parallel each other, so I'm dying to go back and read that again, so that probably means it'll be a while before I work my way back up to serpentwar.

Yes, that was what I meant. :p

I was trying to remember the name of his mercenary band, and thought it might have been "Calis' Crimson Eagles".

I think it was knights captain,I have only read The Serpent War once.
I'm having a pop on your good name Master because you haven't corrected the spelling of Tomas's name:D

Well, it took long enough for someone to notice... :D

[EDIT]And Calis was Captain Calis of Calis' Crimson Eagles when fighting in Novindus... BUT, because of who Calis is and what he is doing, I seem to remember he was given the honorary title of Knight-Captain of the Armies of the West... And all the rank and privilage associated with that poisition... So is part of the Court of Krondor...
