Who will rule Westeros?

May be Sam Tarly or Jon Snow. I think the Others are possibility too.
 
Martin hasn't done anything major with little Rickon Stark as yet. Maybe he's saving him for the throne.
 
At this point anything's possible. Who knows, maybe the seven kingdoms will become seperate again and will each have their own ruler.
 
I don't think Dany can ever rule the seven Kingdoms. She's too much of a foreigner and she's from a house taht was hated and despised by most of the Great houses. If she takes back Westeros it will be with blood and fire as her house words go. There is nothing the smallfolk and nobles will hate more than having their lands raized to the ground and having a foreign army on their soil. I'm pretty sure Jon's not going to rule since he's up north and now the nightswatch is reinforced with the knights and footmen from Dragonstone.

Rickon is unlikely, he's still very young and wild as we left him with Osha. What they're doing is uncertain but I can see him becoming a wildling. Bran, Arya, and Sansa can be dismissed fairly easily as well based on their locations and sexes.

If it were up to me Tyrion would rule. He is a capable leader as we've seen but the citizens of kingslanding hate the dwarf.

So I guess I'm gonna end by agreeing with Arya the seven kingdoms will likely break up into seven kingdoms, with Dany aiding the nightwatch and then returning to her empire across the sea.
 
Me! (damn, beat to the punchline! ;) )

I reckon Dany will probably restore the Targaryen legacy.
I think the houses are too use to being part of a greater whole to get use to being independant anymore.
 
Im going to throw my 2 cents into the mix.


Ill predict Dany, unless one of her "betrayals" ends in her death.....

In which case I imagine it will be some creative marriage amongst the Tyrells, Lannisters, Starks or one of the Baratheon bastards.

hmm I might as well predict everyone in that case, guess Im hedging my bets! Maybe Hodor!?!?!:) :) :)

Ok, Ill go out on a limb and say Sansa will be married to either a legitimized Edric Storm or a Tyrell and that couple will rule Westeros. (keep in mind this is a prediction and Im not really basing this on anything substantial)

But I have to imagine it will be Dany with those nifty dragons and all.............:)

Yeah, I can picture her swooping in with the dragons, saving Westeros from the Others, and thereby securing the support of the people.

Damn! I hate waiting and seeing...
 
Anticipation is a good thing. It will be worth the wait because he is doing it right. I love how G.R.R.M is true to his vision and willing to take the time to make things right. I also want to read everything now, but waiting gives us the chance to go over everything and dream. If all the books were out, it is likely that forums like this wouldn't be so busy and I would have missed all of the wonderful points that are raised here.

I find myself willing Littlefinger to succeed. He's such an unpleasant guy he'd be perfect for the job...
 
Hmmm I dunno about Littlefinger- he's definitely smart and determined, but I'm not sure if he's able to see the bigger picture clearly enough to encourage the love of the commoners. Food for thought...
 
I dont know if youre serious or just joking, but Im kind of hoping we get to see a return of the Children of the Forest during the course of this story's cycle.

I feel bad because everytime you turn around someone is chopping down another stand of weirwoods...:mad:
 
I wouldn't be suprised to see them return. However, in the context of this thread, I doubt if we'll see them "rule" Westeros. Although we may see it split into 2 or more kingdoms again, with the North being the home of the Children, and the domain of the Stark kings.
 
I'm betting on the Others completely wiping out Westerose. The TCOTF come and kill all the Others. Then the Children will have there land back that was taken from them so long ago.
(I'm hoping the same thing happens with the United States. The whole deal with the Indians. I'm not sure how that's gonna happen tho.)
