Crusade, a spin-off from the Emmy-winning Babylon 5, describes the efforts of the Interstellar Alliance vessel Excalibur to find the cure to a plague released on Earth. This plague of nano-viruses, released by the Shadow's servants the Drakh in retaliation for the Shadow War (see Babylon 5 season 4 for details), will kill all mammalian life on Earth within five years if the cure is not found. Unfortunately, the plug was pulled on this series after just 13 episodes, so no resolution was ever achieved.

Cast:
Daniel Dae Kim
Role: Lt. John Matheson

Any views on Crusade itself? Having seen how disappointingly Babylon 5 ended, coupled with some appalling follow-on movies, I pretty much avoided touching Crusade.

I've never even heard of Crusade. Maybe it didn't make it to terrestrial TV.

Still - here's a thought - if they pulled the plug after 13 episodes, give it a few years and the series will become a collector's item on DVD (or Blue Ray?) and the fans will be berating the moguls for destroying it prematurely.

Such is the way of things :)

Crusade was a good idea... A potential 5 year story arc for the Drakh plague was going to take 5 years to kill people on Earth... And Excalibur's crew looking for a cure...

Gary Cole, after Midnight Caller, didn't seem to have a lot of luck - American Gothic got cancelled and so did Crusade... Shame... He is much underrated actor...
