I was reading The Burning Stone last night in bed and got to page 84 and turned to page 85 and it was not there. Instead I was greeted by page 133. My copy of the book has almost fifty pages missing from it. Awesome. This is the first time I have encountered this problem in my quater century or so of life.

That's hard breaking... the best stuff happens during those pages too... ;)
So, what are you going to do? Take the book back or do you want a brief summary of those pages from one of us?

mmmm.... didn't think of that.
So how do you like the series so far? How about the Prince of Dogs, did you like that?
Have you figured out who Alain is yet?

Not yet but he is a very likeable character but has not featured much in the Burning Stone yet. The battle at the end of the Prince of Dogs was excellent.

I think the battles, especially the one at the end, in The Burning Stone are the best... mmmmm... maybe the last one in Book 5, The Gathering Storm...

You tease!
Liath and Sanglant are siblings.

Alain has some link to the late emperor Tallifer (not sure how to spell that one)

You tease!
HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! Am I? Or am I being truthful? Hmmmm... sounds like a good poll question when the series is done. ;)

And you spelled Tallifer right.

By any chance did you find the missing 50 pages? Have you read them yet?

My laptop and desktop are both knackered. So I had to borrow a laptop so that I could download the book and print off the pages. I have only read ten or so pages as I have been busy at work.

Kate? Why Kate? I had all the pages in my book... I think it was the book seller who shorted you... not Kate...
I personally would have taken the book back and made up a sob story, crying to the book seller... would have been such a pathetic scene I would have received a new book, all pages included FREE! ;)

The chance of them having another copy was slim, the chance of this copy being complete was slimmer still. Nah, Kate will eternally to blame for this one.

I would love to tell you more... but I don't know if you would be very happy with me or not. It could be a spoiler and I have a friend who tells me about the books she reads (LE Modesitt) and now I don't need to read them, she tells me too much and I truly am annoyed with her. And I do tell her to shut up, but she keeps talking...
Alain is my all around fav, but Rosvita is the best! King Henri annoyed me and so does Liath at times.
Anyways... I'm rambling.

I don't hate her, merely all the sections on her and that Zacharias dude. Dull. The series really took off when Liath and Alain first meet.

Poor Zacharias... Yes, they are rather dull, but very informative. Gives plenty of insight of what's going on with the Aoi, very subtle though.
What did you think of the meeting of Liath and Alain?
And those dogs...
