I don't know if anyone has heard this yet, and I'm very sorry if there is already a thread running but...

The Sci-Fi Channel is bringing Firefly back! Friday 7-6c.
:):) :) :)
Hurray!

Bringing back?

Are you sure its not just re-runs?

She's a child... You can't expect accuracy... :D

It will be re-runs... There won't be any more until it is decided whether the film is a success... So, when SERENITY is shown at your local cinema, in September, GO SEE IT!!! :D

is this the josh wheadon project i've been hearing muchly lately...
The sci fi channel is such a waste of space btw, you'd expect them to be incharge of bring sci fi to the masses, instead of being the vultures and picking on the left overs of the bigger TV networks..

I disagree with your thoughts on scifi, they do rerun a great deal of older movies and series but they also create many new movies and series on their own. They may not be perfect but right now they are the only ones out there, at least it seems so. The regular networks are so scared of our type of programming that when that rarity comes along, a good sff series, it usually gets cancelled before it can gain a fan base. Firefly being a perfect example.

And what can the sci fi channel do about it???
heh - re-run the pilot series over and over, and nothing more. I've seen more horror films on he sci fi channel than anything worth watching. Hell, i've seen more Billy Zane films on the sci fi channel than anything worth watching (did you know he still made films??)

Basically they have no kloute - and that Firefly example pritty much illustrates my point

For those who can't get enough Firefly there's a three issue "Serenity" comic written by Joss that's supposed to bridge the gap between the series and the movie. 2 issues are out so far.

Not sure if it's any good or not as I haven't got round to buying it yet.

Already got Issue 1 (all three variant covers - such a geeky fanboy am I  ) and issue 2 should be arriving any day now.

It's pretty short (about 35 pages) but it trys hard to keep the spirit and dialogue of the series going. This first issue is just mainly about creating tension for the next two I think. I'm looking forward to issue 2 now! :)

I'm hoping they collect all three together then I'll buy that.

Did you read the story about Nathan Fillion (Captain Mal) trying to get a copy (because his mum gave away all his free issues) and dealing with a really obnoxious guy at the comic book store?

I'll try and find a link, funny stuff.

There are tickets to Birmingham and Edinburgh on Ebay (around £50 for 2). If I saw some for that much for Manchester I'd buy them in a flash.

Almost all the cast is going to be at the Edinburgh Festival screening. My wife wants to go without tickets just to star spot... but I'm thinking that's just a little excessive.

well, it opens nationwide in Sept (or maybe Nov - I lose track) so I think this will be the last chance to see the preview.
Who knows - it might be slightly tweaked for nationwide release
