I've just seen this, and loved it. yes, its disney, but oh so good. i recomend it to anyone who loved the princess bride and that sort of film (note i've not read the book, so this is based on the film only). It was charming and funny and sweet with action and adventure and jimi mystry and other fantastic cast members. It's also fun for little girls:D, but my toddler also loved it (great fighting scenes).
it's even survived having been watched everyday this week without paling for me:cool:

This is a wonderful movie (book is better though :))!!!! I love the young lady who plays Ella, Anne Hathaway, I believe is her name. There are parts of the movie that are very corny, but it's a kids movie and my kids love it. I have to admit, I don't own this one... yet. ;)

I haven't seen this yet, but I've purchased the DVD. I am a recent new father to a little girl - named Ella. Couldn't resist the title. I thought this would be a really cool thing for her, so I hope she is as excited as I am when we first get to watch it. I guess I'll have to wait a couple of years until she's old enough to watch movies, though. :)

Sadly a big fan of this movie... Not as good as The Princess Bride, of course, but certainly getting there. Gotta love anything with a big Queen song-and-dance number.

Is it just me, or can Cary Elwes only credibly do these type of parts? Great in this, great in PB, but put him in anything contemporary and he just sounds so out of place. Saw Saw the other week, and just couldn't get over his delivery. Just waiting for him to shout out, 'No, to the pain!'

Oh, I know. He was awful in "Twister". He did everything but twirl his moustache to telegraph that he was the villain of the piece.

I haven't seen "Ella Enchanted" yet, by the way, but I would really like to.

What do you mean, old enough? My parents started taking me to the drive-in movies when I was about six weeks old. Probably why I love movies so much.:D

Good point. :) My little one is afraid of the home theatre system, though. She also crawls out of the room whenever anyone turns on the tv. Not sure what to think of this behavior, though...

Poor baby.:( Do you have the volume up very loud? Or is your Ella just frightened by it in general? Of course, you could look at it this way...if ths continues, you won't have to worry about her watching too much television when she gets older.;)

I haven't seen the film, but I read the book some years ago and thought it was a fun read.
