Eric Van Lustbader, ScFi or Fantasy?

I recently checked out Ring of the Five Dragons by Eric Van Lustbader and I have since returned to the library to get Viel of a Thousand Tears the 2nd book in this series. I have found the world created by this author to be facinating to say the least. The world is in the process of being conquered by a race from another planet, their own homeworld is destroyed so they are here to stay.

The world they landed on is a magical world which has some of the locals able to use sorcery that can rival the technology of the conquering race. So it pits technology against sorcery and mythology and the world Mr Van Lustbader creats in the process is definetly his world and one I find extremely interesting.

I have found this story difficult to put down.

I have read the series - not one that I would want to keep though.

I would have said the series was Fantasy.

I have also read these books, not the best ever but they would definetly be in the genre of fantasy in my opinion.

Goodness! There's a name I haven't seen for a few years. I read one of Eric's books years ago. I'm not even sure of the title, but the one I read was definitely fantasy if that helps.
