I need to know of any interesting SF events happening over the next 3 months - any mainstream movie releases, big events, anything that the mainstream media might be interested in covering. Also needs to be in the UK - sorry!

Thanks for the headsup, but it's not quite got the drama I'm looking for - premiers, major cons, etc.

If it helps, I need something that TV will like. :)

Thanks for the recommendations - London Expo especially looks good - I've put Mark Robson and yourself forward for it to Rahnak, with myself as a third option just in case.

As a point of complete uninterest, I hear that at Expo, the new "Soltice Park" complex where I'm gonna be working will be heavily advertised.

Bet you're so excited now;)

Did our friend at Grenada send you an e-mail??

No. I'm afraid not. However, I'm in contact with the national press now due to the consequences of the other email I sent you. I think you'll be seeing something fairly soon. I'll let you know when it's likely to come out. :)

Brian, Newcon3 is happening on 1-2 Oct in Northampton: http://www.serpens-argenteus.com/newcon3/

Also, the British Fantasy Convention is on the same weekend from 30 Sep to 2 Oct in Walsall: http://www.britishfantasysociety.org.uk/fcon/index.htm

I intend to do a day at each. I'll be participating as a panel member in Northampton on the Sunday morning, but am just going to Walsall for a nose around. I hope this is useful.
This look interesting, but far too expensive for me :(

That's a shame, Rune. It would have been nice to meet you. I'm off to see the Princess in Birmingham soon! It's very exciting ... my daughter is very jealous of me going to meet a 'real' Princess! :D

my daughter is also excited that i'll be meeting a real writer :D (obviously i'm not). Looking forward babe, but be warned, so are the rest of the group. poems at the ready ;). on the plus side, we've a costa opening up, so you might be able to get a decent non micki D's cup :D

Hurrah! (Will be wearing my anti-bad poetry deflection sunglasses and carrying a stun gun to stop the really persistent ones!) Hey, I might even be famous by then - The Independent are going to be running a story on me towards the end of the week. You know the sort of thing - "Tall, dashing, devilishly handsome young man writes brilliant work of fiction set to blow the world away"!!! Will no doubt start a new thread on my author page when it has been released - not that I'm self obsessed, or vain, or anything like that, of course. It's just that my public need to know ... :D

Your public needs to know what, that you are set to blow the world away? Nice warning. Where's a Vogon ship when you need one!!!

checked out the costa, reasearch only of course:D, you can get your late, but first it's the dreadful stuff of the centre. btw: Chris says he'll send you info on how to get there, but give me a shout if you need real directions;) or you might end up in scunthorpe!
