As some of you may know, I have been away from my home this week, and, more importantly, away from my copy of AGOT. Well, after yesterday, I finally broke down. I drove to a mall here in San Jose and picked up another copy of AGOT, so now I can look stuff up and confirm facts for all the crazed theories that we come up with here.

Fortunately, the new release of AGOT sells for only $3.99 US, which is about half the normal price for a paperback. So I'm not that crazy, am I? Plus, I finally got my hands on the "Captain of the Guards" free sample chapter. All in all, I think it was a trip well worth it, don't you? Besides, my original copy of AGOT was starting to wear out, so it's always good to have a backup.

Aside from the fact that I can't even go a week without AGOT, I'm fairly sane. Right?

Yes Red, your sane.

I purchased a downloadable copy of AGoT, ACoF & ASoS from Amazon.com. The beauty of an electronic PDF version is the ability to search for words/phrases. Want to learn more about the nameless ones, a simple search will reveal all there is to know.

I've purchased copies of AGoT to hand to people...that's how sane I am.

When you start writing fan fiction depicting the love between Ned and Catelyn, THATS when Id start to worry.

Hahaha. And those love stories about Cersei and herself.

Red- you're not crazy. I have one copy of AGoT here at work to have during lunch break, one next to my bed at home, a nice crisp new one on my bookcase, and one spare that is in the hands of my boyfriend. :) At least you're not spending the money on drugs!:p

Let's see here - that's 4 copies, is it? Never mind, I don't have a problem - Arya does. :)

Guilty as charged. However, I do have a habit of lending my books out. Often I don't count on having them returned to me. Therefore, having at least one copy safe and sound on my bookshelf is necessary. Haha between my parents and my little brother I think they have four or five copies as well. And that's just AGoT. As a family we're singlehandedly paying GRRM a stipend to keep on writing.

No, you have a problem when you have a copy of all three books that is not only falling apart, but has passages marked in highlighter pen. Oh yeah, and you have the Finnish edition, despite not reading a word of Finnish. And when you gave away the signed copy of the Meisha Merlin limited numbered edition given to you personally by George for winning the WorldCon ASOIAF trivia contest... because you've already got one.

Yes, I do know someone who fits all of these descriptions. No, it isn't me. I only have a complete set of both HB and PB. ;)

I have, and have only ever had, one coppy of each of the ASOIAF books! Yay i'm sane! :)

Ohhhhhh...........

/me looks at the huge box from amazon that's just arrived filled with books.

/me looks at the 3 like-sized boxes that arrived sometime in the last two months.

I think my problems more generalised.

I only have one copy of each, and now I feel inadequate. Though when I do do a reread, I usually borrow from the library to keep my copies that much more pristine....

I think even being on this forum between books is a sign of clinical insanity. I have only one of each copy too, but they follow me everywhere.

I remember first telling my sister about AFFC (I'd just got it) and telling her about the character of Brienne, especially how I hoped she was still alive. She sneered and said, in nasty tones, "She's wormfood."

So there was nothing to do but give her AGOT to read herself.

Two days later, she was asking for ACOK. Three days later I got ASOS part 1 from the library; she bought the next part herself soon after.

About two-three weeks after the comment, having just finished AFFC, she handed me the book back and said, "I hope Brienne lives..."

Revenge is sweet.
