Personally I have to attend the manchester signing, even if it means taking a day off work.

cheers for this

*sigh* appears the North East is consigned to the dustbins of history again! :(

It's not that big a country - you reckon he'd be able to get within 100 miles of me... :(

Yeah it would have been nice to be able to go to a signing closer to home, so that I could visit the family at the same time. But as I am studying in Manchester its not too bad.

At least they are not all in the south east, where it would cost an extra £50 to travel there.:)

A few of us are likely to use the Glasgow signing as an excuse for a fan gathering (party!). If anyone's intending to attend the Glasgow signing, drop me a private message for details.

pfffffffft, at least you've got signings in your own country dude! I dunno, first the gits leave us off their bloody flag and now George aint coming any nearer then Birmingham! I bet the two are related!

----

George: What do the crosses on your flag represent?

HRH Elizabeth I: Oh, well they represent the Patron Saints of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

George: Ah.... but what about this Wales place? Are they not part of Britain?

HRH Elizabeth I: Oh, them? Well, technically... But we don't like to talk about it.

George: Oh. Well, thanks for that Lizzy.

/George takes out notebook and crosses out Wales from his list of places to visit.

Point and laugh all you want, Dolorous. I'll wait patiently for my copy of AFFC so that I can have GRRM sign it himself when I meet him on November 20th.

Now who's laughing??:p

Hell it was only a year ago that the EU completely left you off the map of Europe that was on the front of one of their statistical books covering every one of the EU member states.

It must fill you with such pride to know how important your country is to the world.

Sorry couldn't help myself. But then I am from a place of such great historical importance that whenever I tell people the name of my home town I have to add near Newcastle for them to recognise the area.

Unless you're in a room full of Roma-philes and say that you live in Segundum :)

When George does get over here, he won't be within 100 miles of me either, so I was pretty sympathetic to Winters Sorrow and Dolorous Edd, until I got to the last lines:

It's the secret police monitoring your welsh seperatist views... :D

Nah, they're too busy monitoring the Scots and the Irish :) . And while they're all busy looking the other way my fellow patriots and i will break out some super-sized sculls and paddle us out into the Atlantic!

/me laughs evilly: MWHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! :D

Heheh, don't bother me in the slightest m8. It's shameful enough people knowing we've got England stuck on our arses like an unsightly boil, without Atlases advertising it :D

(Though i must admit it does rankle that Luxemburg was on the damned thing but not Wales! I mean seriously, does anyone know what Luxemburg actually Does? (With the exception of making Belgium feel slightly less small and insignificant of course ;) ))

I am really looking forward to meeting GRMM when he is in Glasgow as part of his book tour,it will be the first book signing i have ever been to!!-so please do not cancel George- also,do i need to contact the bookshop for a ticket to the event? thanks in advance.

Is anyone going to the Norwich gig? I booked myself into that before I found out about the Colchester signing, which would be SO much easier for me to get to. However, I think I've got the better deal, because Norwich seems to be a "Meet the Author" Q&A rather than a straightforward signing.

Mazikos - If Glasgow is a reading and Q&A gig (like Norwich) then you'll probably need a ticket. Otherwise, no. Best call the shop and find out.

Well, was at the Basingstoke tour date. Not all that incredable. No particularly interesting questions... Shame really. Got Fevre Dream and aFfC signed though:)
