I may live in Yorkshire but I'm a Scot
Made the fatal mistake of having a quick glance at it this morning,so now it's finished and I'll have to wait another year for the next one.Ah well can start Deadhouse Gates this evening

Concentrates mostly on Pugs sons, specially Caleb,we get an insight on how he felt growning up in a community of magicians as a non magic user.He takes his girlfriend's sons,Tad and Zane with him after a visit to Stardock with the intention of getting them gainful employment but circumstances throw them into the conclave.Nakor features a lot in this book and we are introduced to a brilliant new character Ralan Bek who likes to cause pain.Caleb with the two boys in tow,Kaspar and Tal are send to investigate the assassinations in Kesh.Kaspar and Tal to spy out the court,Caleb the merchants and commoners.Magnus is spending a lot of time in Kelewan studying the Talnoy.Compelling and impossible to put down.

Looks like another book to that extremely long list of 'to get books'

Sounds very interesting nixie :)

I'm in the middle of reading Flight of the Nighthawks... Enjoying it so far... Like Caleb... Learning more about him since he was only a background figure in the first three books of the Conclave of Shadows... Talon of the Silver Hawk was the principal character and there wasn't much room to expand Caleb's character... And there is a little more to do with the interaction between Pug and his family... And there is a return of Nakor and Tomas (for the Tomas fans)...

But all too soon the book will be over and I'll have to wait another six months to a year for another new book to come out... :(

I must be out of the loop - Pug's got another son now? Presumably to Miranda?
I didn't think that even if Pug had another son he'd be "ready" for a book yet - how long after Talon of the Silver Hawk is this set?

Not long m8, but "The Conclave of Shadows" is set well after the "serpentwar" books. Jimmy and pug's daughter's (cba finding out her name tbh ;) ) children: Jimmy and Dash are old men in the small appearance they made in "talon", as is erik von darkmoor.

I shall refrain from commenting further... Especially to a lady... ;)

W_S - Pug has two sons to Miranda... Caleb (no magical abilities - though can sense magic) and Magnus (next likely most powerful magician in two worlds and is long-lived)... Personally, I wonder if Miranda is likely to have anymore... :D But even though she is over 100 years old, something happened at Sethanon (if I remember right) regenerated her internally to bare children again...

ahh yes, starting to remember now - Caleb was the hunter who helped Talon wasn't he?

This book's on my crimbo list (got to ensure my folks buy me at least 1 thing I'll enjoy! :D )

Caleb did help Talon of the Silver Hawk become Talwin Hawkins... :D

This book isn't the best by Feist, but it is a good bridge book between what went on in the Conclave of Shadows trilogy and what will happen within the Darkwar trilogy...

And there are some interesting ideas about some of the more established characters and some good new characters who are a little strange... ;)

flight of the nighthawks was good...i just didnt like how it left you hanging w/ erik, in all the books hes like one my fav characters

I agree, I liked Erik, good commander

Flight of the Nighthawks was a good book, he has added a couple of more characters now, I liked the battle in the palace though

"Now, where was I? Oh yes, it's time to kill everyone!" - Leso Varen

awesome!

No mention of The Fox King anywhere... T_T I got that for my birthday and it got me into reading Feist. Even though I hadn't read the first book. It continued on so well.

this book for me was one of his worst, too much repetition.

Tad en Zane = short repeat of tal
Kesh repeat of twin brother book, and knew he was emperor from way too long, too obvious

Caleb was a bore and a whine, and he was soo cool in the two tal books.
Pug worries worries worries but doesnt do much excepting sitting around worrying and hugging his wife.

Not once does he go truly in depth with the characters, except perhaps a tiny bit with Caleb and as i said that was a bore.

Not to mention the endless repeats of things in the past, all in all a great dissapointment, definitly after the last two Tal books and kaspar book

Yes i agree. it does really leave you hanging... Erik was a great down to earth guy and i want to know if he had kids or not and how he and Kitty lived...
