Supervillian showdown 1: Doc Oc vs Lex Luthor

both villians of infamous ingenuity. they have gone up against their respected hero's and done quite ok, really only been saved by a stroke of luck on the hero's part, cause let's face it, the hero always has to win. but in a battle to the end, who would win between Dr Oto Octavious with his mechanoid extentions, and Lex Luthor with the cunning of a snake and the wealth of avarice?

Oh... my... this is a hard one... no wonder no one has posted on it yet. Both intelligent men. I would have to go with Doc Oct. He'll have the advantage because of his eight arms.

I've only ever read Doc Ock's first appearance, and I have to say that he wasn't that formidable - he did give Spidey a nasty moment or two, but was ultimately subdued. I don't know if a nuclear scientist (all scientist in the MarvelVerse at this point were nuclear scientists!) with a predeliction for armature would really be a match for a politicking, business-magnate, research-funding Lex Luthor of the sortt we've seen ever since Byrne's reboot. Even th eearlier Luthor in his powersuit era could wipe the floor with Ock!


Naturally, since I've never read about Ock beyond that first appearance it is possible he's since tightened up his act.

How about Luthor vs Doom?

I voted for Lex Luthor. The guy has fended off Superman all these years, after all.

Luthor wouldn't enter the boxing ring physically with the Doctor Oct because that was never his style. All his dirty work was done by someone else while he smoked his cigar and Stock Market shopped from his corporate office. That was why he was such a formable foe for the Son of Kypton all these years. He is incredibly powerful in a way that Superman could never physically challenge. Therefore, Doc Oct, who has not even tenth of the presence as the Man of Steel, wouldn't have a chance.

And let's ignore the whole Super Powers cartoon series inspired battle suit that Luthor sported in the '80s. It completely betrayed the dynamics of the character for the very reasons sited above.

Now, a pissing contest between Lex Luthor and Dr. Doom....

...THAT would be a fight.

Doc Ock is harder, and he also has the cigar-smoking machinationing (wrd? ) tendencies that Luthor has. He's no thicko, you know.

ooooh! That's a hard one! Lex could figure out a plan quickly and pay to get it done while if Doc Oc meet up face to face with him, Doc Oc would smash him to pieces with his 4 robo-arms!

Lex normally finds what they love or have and use it against them but against another villain? I don't know.. I think Doc Oc would win
