Fun Haiku

[shandril]

haiku is japenese poetry consisting of 3
lines
the first line has to have 5 syllables in it
i'll give you an example:

sleep is el-u-sive

second line has to have 7 syllables in it
ie:

my mind starts to wan-der away

and 5 for the last line :

pray-ing for re-lease

now haiku can be about anything or nothing the only person it has to have meaning for is the person writing it as long as it has 17 syllables

have fun and enjoy your selves

try it even if you dont think you can do it .......use your fingers to count the syllables i do

syllable counting is hard

Maybe it's just me.

sweet is its fragrence heady
that's the blue moon rose

Like golden tears through the dark
Veil of cheerless night.

If this poetic system
Is quite suitable

really works for me

sweet happiness here

Ogden Nash...smashed.

waiting watching for a clue

Drinking with Lao-Tzu,
Wine heightening my senses,
Fireflies kiss the night.

that my life isn't
tho I know failure

Walking the ruins,
Ashes floating to the sky,
The city is gone.

Falling plum blossoms,
Autumn winds ruffle the trees,
Winter touches me.

On the dark Yalu,
lantern hung junks cast light on
the reflected stars.

sleepy dreamy me
floating twirling tumbling down
head hits the pillow

The pillow whacks me,
My opponent laughs and runs,
She is five years old.
