Fun Haiku

The ocean draws back:
strange wrecks reappear as the
way is made open;

Cthulhu ftaghn!

the word passes through the land;
mortals cow'r in fear

Cthulhu ftaghn!
He Returns!
The cry goes up
the great and good fear:

No portal can stop
the Great Old One's vengeance, as
Cthulhu ftaghn!

slowly cut in half
they dropped down on the floor
pieces of my hair

I feel reborn now
with a complete change of style
happy on to spring

The Great Old One stops;
Confused, he looks around for
priests and acolytes

but mankind has fled the shore:
No priests, no worship, no more.

Trying to imagine
what the haiku masters would
have made of that one.

Modern language has its place
But "Shoo be do, wah wah wah"?
