Ive just picked up The Flowing Queen from my library. With not trying this author's works before thought to loan one first and see what they are like.

Anyone else discovered this author?

Kurzbeschreibung

A stunning visual adventure which will be compared with Pullman for imaginating and fantasy worlds. A fiesty female heroine finds herself caught up in mystery and intrigue in a parallel Venice full of mermaids, flying stone lions and phantoms that inhabit magic mirrors. Kai Meyer is hugely successful in his native Germany and sales for this story stand at well over 250,000 hardbacks. Readership level: 8-12yrs.
I snagged this from: http://www.bol.de/shop/home/artikeldetails/flowing_queen/kai_meyer/ISBN1-4052-1638-7/ID6255881.html

Apparently, He is a native from Germany. There are quite a few sites written in German about him.

He has only two books published at this time:
The Water Mirror (2005)
The Flowing Queen (2005)

The Flowing Queen was quite entertaining and quite colourful :D Had a nice alternative view of Venice. I think it's a book that leans more towards very young kids:)
