The quote game

I would like to propose a new game, by the following rules:

- one takes a quote by a character from Hobbit/Lotr and removes every second letter, and puts a slash between words. Whoever identifies the last element, be it quote, speaker, or both posts the next one.

example: A_l/_h_t/_s/_o_d/_o_s/_o_/g_i_t_r

answer: All that is gold does not glitter, Gandalf or Bilbo Baggins

- please keep the quotes at a reasonable length - and try not to look up the answers .

Ok, so here is the first challenge:

I just noticed I left out a word in the above quote.

It should read like this:

Here's a hint, the Gaffer appears in the beginning of Fellowship and at the end of Return... this quote is from Return and it is about Sam.
