Has anyone purchased this for their Ipod or other MP3 player? How was it? I've listened to a couple of other fantasy novels and depending on whose reading it can be well done or dead boring. I've never listened to an audio interpretation of something I've already read though. Audible.com has the entire series..I'm probably going to get it. .problem is I'm running out of space on my harddrive...

Well..its one way to hear the proper pronunciation for some of those names;)

Listening..to the audio sample..it doesn't sound bad. Yep..that's what I'll do..instead of rereading the series..I'll listen to it

Sometimes it's a really enjoyable way to casually relive a story you've read when your plate is already full with other books. At one time I used to read The Lord of the Rings once a year; for the last few years, I've been listening to it about once a year while driving to work. A nice way to mix things up on a story I've experienced many times before.

I listened to part of Storm of Swords on CD and was fairly impressed until the first Shae/Tyrion sex scene. Hearing Shae's, er, begging for the "lion of lannister" to be inside her with a man's reading voice just grossed me out. I didn't listen to much after that.

Ummmm ... great?

Wouldn't it be great if GRRM had a dramatized version? Like the BBC of The Hobbit and LOTR? Have about five or six readers (male AND female) and some background effects and music?
Man, that would be killer!
