I personally would liek to see this story come out as a video game.
If it does not happen i could bring myself to do the programming. It could be possibly an online game, you know like World of Warcraft, where thousands can play all for one purpose. Playing the game of thrones. Who can be the top big cheese? full of war and death.

The thing is though if you were going to make a game set in George RR Martin's ASoIaF series it would actually be easier and cheaper if you didn't use his setting or any other fantasy novel setting. The reason for that is you would have to purchase the rights to the work and gaming companies generally put so little capital into the actual storyline of their games that I don't see them ever approaching Mr. Martin or any other fantasy authors in the near future.

In fact they would be better off to hire George RR Martin and ask him to develop a new story for the game world rather then using his already made setting from ASoIaF because then he could craft the story for this world with all of these things in his mind.

Recently I bought an older RPG computer game called Neverwinter Nights. This game comes with the toolset so that players can make their own games just as good as the one the company made. I found some games made by players and one of them was set in George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series and it was ok but not great. This module for NWN was made by a fan of the books and while it did capture the flavor of Martin's work it was still just a D&D game.

Over the years the shelves have been littered with games culled from modern fantasy literature, from games based on Robert Jordan's Wheel Of Time series to works by Arthur C. Clarke to extensive adventures based on the tales of Raymond Feist. Fantasy authors have been approached regarding games and will continue to be as long as a potential profit is seen for a game.

Considering that there is a board game based on Martin's work, I've little doubt that discussions have taken place regarding a video game, too.

Yes, I had realized i could not use the storyline without a large concequence.
The only thing i would like to take from this is the landscape(map), items (swords and types of swords) and animals.
Thsi would be where you make you own complete character and live the life of it as you would if you were there. You would have complete control and live in the world with other onlien gamers, fighting, trading and living in peace or war. Goal is to rule em all.:)
