    At a guess...

It seems these days that when people describe books, they rarely say 'Wow, this is totally original! I can't think of anything to compare it to.' Most of my favourite books of recent years remind me of something else that I've read or seen before. The Hunger Games reminded me of The Running Man...

    Coming April 2011 - The Devil's Triangle

First draft blurb reads: The Bermuda Triangle has cast a shadow over Sam and Niamh Cutler since their mother vanished nine years ago. Every year they return to the Florida Keys with their father, Matt, who is obsessed with solving the haunting mystery. But Sam is bored with lazing around by...

    Film Interest

A question I'm often asked is if my books are ever going to be made into films. The truth is: I have no idea! However, for those 'die hard' fans who keep raising the question, there might be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. I was recently talking to a very influential film...

    The Devil's Triangle

The draft of Book 1 of my new Devil's Triangle trilogy is finished. I'm not sure yet, whether it's any good, but at least I have a story to work with. When I read it back through I found it rattled along at a good pace, but I'm not really quite certain about the ending. It sort of feels like...

    Another Step Towards World Domination!

Yes, another territory is preparing to launch its first Mark Robson novel - Romania this time. I've been waiting for this one for some time to see what they would do with the covers. It seems they have decided they like ours ... at least for the first book. Here's what it looks like:

    Dent de Sabre

Here's the French cover for Longfang. I have to say I'm more than delighted with what they are doing with this series. :)

    Turkish Delight

I've just heard from my publisher that the first two books of my Dragon Orb series will launch in Turkey next month. I can't wait to see what sort of covers they're using. What sort of dragons do they go for in Turkey, I wonder? I've never seen anything written in the Turkish language before...

Coming to Germany - July 2010

I have been delighted to receive my first stats. on sales of my Imperial books in Germany. Suffice it to say that they are pleasing. Random House are following up on the success of the Imperial Trilogy by launching all four Darkweaver Books in July 2010 - here are the covers. I think they're...

    Who is this handsome fellow?

Ah, that would be me at the Trapped by Monsters event in Chelsea last week! Must remember to brush my teeth more thoroughly in future. :D

    Oh Wow!

Not only did Pocket Jeunesse alter my name on the French version of Firestorm to the correct spelling, they changed the entire cover! I wasn't expecting that. Much as I loved the previous cover version, this one is just stunning. Available now for anyone who likes to read in French.

    Review: Dragon Orb, Aurora

Well, I'm very close to this book so it is hard to review. It closes out the series very nicely. Without giving important spoilers - I can only say that the ending had me turning some pages! I really liked what Mark did with this series - each character had their own issues and values...

What am I going to be writing next ...?

Well, it is a bit premature to say too much until a contract is agreed and signed, but I will say that it looks very likely that (based on my story efforts to date) nobody is going to predict the sort of story most likely to become my next series. All I will say is that I'm really excited about...

    Dragon Orb - Aurora

Not long now. Just a few short weeks until the launch of the final book in the Dragon Orb series. The official launch is 3rd August. I should get my copies next week, and will be doing an event with The Games Vault in Daventry, from where advance copies will be available at that event. He's...

I am not annoyed ... much.

It appears the first in the Dragon Orb series is being launched in France in August with a great cover. Good news ... fantastic news even. At least it would be if they hadn't spelt my name wrong!!! I'm trying to tell myself it doesn't matter, but I'm finding that I'm having to do it through...

    Fantasy Tennis Anyone?

The French Open starts on Monday. I hereby throw down the gauntlet. Come and pick a fantasy tennis team (for the men's draw and the women's) and take on the authors who've been trapped by monsters. There are prizes. Entry is free. You have until Sunday night. That's all you need to know...

    Bolt out of the Blue!

After nearly 9 years of flogging my self published Darkweaver books up and down the UK, it seems someone has finally taken enough notice of me to take that first series seriously! I've just been offered a considerable sum of money for the German Translation rights for all four books by Random...

    I've Surfaced!

It's done! I've written the final sentence of Aurora. The series is complete ... well, there's still the editing phase to go, but I don't want to think about that right now. The important thing is that I can now take a break from my frenetic schedule and have a bit of me time. That should...

    Firestorm Shortlisted!

Excited? You bet I am! I just noticed that Dragon Orb: Firestorm has made the shortlist for the Explore Book Award 2009. :) I also note that the teenage section was won last year by my good friend Sam Enthoven with his wonderful book: The Black Tattoo. That’s some act to follow!
