I've just started reading this. It's excellent! I'll give a review when I'm finished but the book cover notes seem to cover it:

Im currently reading a book by Neal Stephenson called "Quicksilver" and when I saw this interview while surfing I thought I'd check it out. He's got some interesting points on writing, the genre and science itself.
