I know this is kind of old dwndrgn, but have you heard anything else about this series? I absolutely love the Outlander series! I haven't heard of the side book, have you read it? If you have, is it any good?
Yes, I've read 'Lord John and the Private Matter' and it was a short but well-written mystery using one of the characters from the Outlander series. There is still no further word on when the next installment will be published, but you can find exerpts on her webpage here:

im wondering if isobelle carmody wil release any of her sequels this year. im looking forward to it.
i can't wait for learn hearn's next book either. i guess i kinda like fantasy.
Her (Isabelle Carmody) publisher is Penguin so you may want to contact them and ask (not only may you get some good information, but publishers like to hear what books are anticipated and which authors are apreciated) here is an email you can use to ask the question of them. They also have an author list on their website so you may want to check if they publish any of your other fave authors and ask about them as well.
The website:

Contact email:

I don't know which 'Hearn' you are asking about but here are some possibles:

Good luck!
