Does anything good ever happen?

Y.A.D.L. has two members!

Two!

Now I'll have someone to take minutes of our meetings!

And someone to second my motions!

Scweet!

Sorry I can't hear you.

If you read the sign on the door, it clearly states "No TK-421s".

And while that technically would allow us to have one, I had named one of our plants TK-421 just for this eventuality.

Sorry, but By-Laws are By-Laws.

Ha! That's funny Wiggum.

Must be that bad transmitter of mine again.

In case you can hear me...the second motion should be for mandatory bathing daily. :D :D

This moment was particularly good for me:

re: Gregor: 'the howls heard ringing from the tower suggested that the healing was not going as well as it might... "The flesh mortifies and the wounds ooze puss... Even maggots will not touch such foulness... The veins in his arm are turning black."'

I'm ashamed to say that I smiled upon reading that. Just when I thought things were as bad as they could get in ASoIaF, GRRM brightened my day with Gregor's horrific suffering.

Dany's story has been, on the whole, pretty positive. Her creepy brother gets his due, she becomes khalessi, she gets three cool pets, slaps down some slavers, frees some slaves, and becomes queen. It's the nearest to Happy Happy Joy Joy as GRRM gets. Go Dany!

Oh please lots of good happens, it is just that it happens in a normal kinda way, and not in an Eddings like Happy twinkle twinkle kinda way.

Wich is okay for like 1 book, but if you have to read the same thing over and over and over again it just gets boring. feist is suffering from the same disease for most of the time, with the occassional exception in the serpentwar saga where he suddenly kills off almost every major character. It seemed way too rushed though, and you could feel it was in many ways just so he could start with a whole new set of rather similar characters.

I dunno; off the top of my head, the only person who's had a decent ride of it is Littlefinger (with only a lifetime of unrequited love and universal disdain from his peers under his belt), and he's a faithless, manipulative snake.

Pretty much every other character (or someone they love) has been either killed, maimed, raped, disowned, betrayed, or suffers from some kind of hideous disfigurement (most characters seem to be a mix-and-match affair).

I'd have to agree that Eddings it most certainly aint, but I still can't quite see the silver lining around the ASOIAF stormheads...

Hey Robb found true love with Jeyne Westerling, thats a good thing....right....right anyone ?......

Well...Littlefinger claims he loves Cat and she was maimed and killed...
