I don't like Martouf one bit, in fact he drives me crazy.. don't know why but he is pathethic.

Aw padders, I like Martouf. <G> He's polite, understanding, isn't threatening, and he's lived through a great deal of personal pain but doesn't let it color his life or his beliefs. Plus he's kind of cute. <G>

My favorite characters are Jack O'Neill and Daniel Jackson. I love Jack because he is handsome, strong, sensitive, witty and brave. I love Daniel because he is brilliant, sweet, sensitive, innocent and adorable. My favorite moments in the show are when Jack and Daniel have interactions. I love their friendship and that is what got me hooked in the first place.

favourite show, me also. Definitely favourite sci-fi show. I am quite keen on the drama, Popular though but it won't take over stargate don't worry

Next in list comes farscape, then outerlimits.

well jack is why i started watching the show. gimme 45 minutes of rda a week and i'm a happy camper. but...sam is also why i keep watching it. i love the fact that there's a female character out there that isn't there just for her looks(not that she doesn't have em, she's gorgeous) or her bust size (yeah, thinking 7 of 9 here)
and she's able to keep up with the guys without going totally butch.
if i could change one thing i'd love the writers to make her a bit less respectful and let her have some of jack's lines. she is a bit like cj, just watch her face sometimes, her expressions say tons.

and i wouldn't kick danny or teal'c outta my house either...

wow this thread is like on of our first (and some bad memories at the start as mything will remember!)

My fav is still Sam but Teal'c is rapidly catching up, he is really progressing as the series goes but I am not so sure about Sam, she has been quite a static character in series 4 so far.

One serious point. Padders, (I think it was you) thanks for telling off that person sending such...rude...stuff on here, I'm might be a newbie in what looks like senior territory, but I know about sticking to the rules.
My favourite character, hard one... In order, with no hiding here, they'd have to be:
Daniel - I just like his personality
Jack - great sense of humour
Sam - tough for the female side, good character overall.

Now, I know I'm probably going to get done for this, but just I don't know were to put Teal'c. I'm watching on a barely mid-series two basis, as it's been cancelled until New Year. So I don't as much about Teal'c as the rest of you to make a decent decision.
Abydos6 - I love your signature, and skydivers, and who's says about getting a hole in their T-shirt They are all really funny. Can't mention them all here, though.

I'd better join in too.

This show is pretty much an ensemble piece. They all go to make up a magnificent whole. They each wouldn't be what they are without everyone else. Each character is dependent on every other character and this makes it all special. The consistency of the writing and production teams is crucial.

But, my favourite character? - Jack O'Neill as only RDA can play him. That man just gets better and better, both in and out of character.

My only query is why they feel the need to dumb Jack down. RDA said recently that he and the writers were doing it deliberately. Honestly, with Jack's history in black ops, he's got to be pretty cluey and the dumbing down does not sit that easily. The man is but one step from being a general (not that you necessarily need brains for that, I suppose). I'm happy with the moral dilemmas he has been facing in season 4 because it goes against the dumbing down.

Don't worry about not liking Teal'c.. Just let Coffeecup and I do that! He is our favorite. I'm just glad all the characters are like by someone! This is such a good show!

Cat, as I do, you think this is an ensamble piece. It is looking more like that with each actor having a larger part in certain scripts and a smaller part in others. I keep thinking of Daniel in Season's 2 "a Matter of Time" when we saw him at the end of the show and in "Bane" also. But this is happening more in Season 4. (Teal'c and O'Neill had small parts (BUT VERY FUNNY) in "The Curse". and Daniel and Sam's parts were larger and for fans of Dr. Fraizer... she got off base!)

I believe that Master Bra'tac (Also a fave! Love the way Tony Amendola does him)did that when he saw Hammond of Texas (as he calls him) was folically impaired at the end of the Second Season opener The Serpent's Grasp or was it Lair?. Just cracked me up!
