personally i like them both but michel garet shanks is better (and even better looking!)

Oh, definetly as MGS (It's it spelled Garrett?)! Mikey's been playing Daniel for 4 years now! How long did James play him?

MS must have done a lot of homework because from what I've seen, a lot of people agree that the DJ of the movie and the DJ of the series are interchangeable.
What MS has done since then though is allow the character to grow with him. I like it.

I was going to say MS...(Garret *grin*)
But then I saw Seinfeld yesterday, with had JS in it. He did a great job. So I don't know anymore, guess it's a good thing they are sort of interchangeable just in case MS decides to quit.

definately shanks it will be hard to replace him i think if he does leave.! *smile*

I think they will try to keep him happy. They even let him direct a episode of season four. So if that works out Ok I think he will stay.

i hope he does stay every one that i know adores him :) (HE'S GOTTA STAY!!!!!!!!!!!) well..... if he doesn't we can always get james spader back on. :(
 
Makes you wonder why the would want to leave a show doing so well but it would be a real shame. I still think he is the most replacable of the team though but i no that wont be a popular comment :)
 
Both the the "S" men are very good actors. MS has had more time with MJ than JS did. He also has let the character grow which the movie couldn't show as well. But even though I saw Spader first I perfer Michael Shanks....just prejudice.
 
I definately like Michael Shanks better than James Spader. Michael is not only beautiful, but extremely talented. He shows more emotion, range and more depth than Spader did in the movie. I'm sure some of that has to do with the writing, but a character is usually only as good as its actor.
 
I like Michael Shanks a lot better than JS mainly because of the character levels that MS has took Daniel to.
OK I know JS only had the film but you just can't get any better than MS. So when he started in season one he had a lot of JS manarisems but from half way through the season it was all his own. OH and he is so much better looking than JS.
