the DHD

I would say ( this is all guesswork and suppostition ) that, contrary to what was presented in the Movie (or possibly not, maybe Daniel didn't know as much as he thought he did) each DHD has 38 identical glyphs, and the only unique glyph would be no 1 (or 39): the P-O.
Otherwise, how would anyone navigate the SG network?

Also, I think it's been established that the P-O cannot be used in an address, and neither then could any other P-O as it wouldn't be on your SG, or DHD either.

Which brings me on to the relevent point, (ie something to do with DHDs) in that the P-O would logically be in the same position on each and every DHD.

It makes sense to me...

DHD confusion

Ok here are what I think are the answers to all the questions I have seen in this thread.

I dought we could duplicate the DHD we are to "inferior" to understand it but I am sure the Nox or the Tollans or any other very advanced species like them could create one.

I think you can move DHD's they are sort of like a remote control which you can just pick up and move around it may be a bit heavy though.

Well the DHD couldn't be broke by weapons fire because they are made of Naquada which is virtually indestructible

No they couldn't send a DHD from storage because a DHD needs to have the same point of origin as the stargate you are using it with

As for what one of you were talking about, the power source, I think there is a naquada reactor inside the DHD

As for our DHD(s) the one for the first or Alpha gate Is in the Russians possession they took it in WWII and the one for the beta gate is probably in Area 51 they probably should get the artic DHD out now since in Season 4 they unpack the Beta gate and start using it.

ya they use the beta gate but what would hapen about the iris if they used the dhd they couldn't use it!
 
I disagree

If they got the DHD they could still keep all that computer stuff to control the iris and MALPS and all there other techno gadgets they could probably just put the DHD in the control room.
But I think why they don't use the DHD, and this goes into the script writers head and not the storyline, is they want to keep all the drama in the Dial up sequence instead of just boom boom boom boom boom boom boom there.
 
DHD swap outs

If you read one of my other posts in this section, and a few other people`s posts, you`ll learn that the PoO is only a symbol, nothing more. Although it is possible that there is some sort of difference which would mean that the PoO has to be the same on both the DHD and the Stargate, but I personally think that it probably doesn`t matter. although I can`t imagine what the point of having a different PoO actually is. They could just as easily make the red globe act as the anchor, which I`m guessing is just what the Point of Origin does. The address is the only thing that needs to be different to dial each planet, that is unless there is something to the Stargate we still don`t know about.

How Do You know?

Unless they ever talk about it in the show we will never know if the PoO has to be the same as the stargate. I mean you cant claim something without proof.

I did say probably, I`m just saying what I think based on the evidence that has been presented. Others may interpret that different to me but please respect my opinion and feel free to post your own and any info that might discredit what I`ve said and I`ll gladly engage in a detailed discussion with you.
