Colin
Okay guys. Your wish is my command. What can I say about Colin? He is everything I imagined he'd be, and more. The guy has a heart of gold and is as down-to-earth as can be. Don't know how he stays so grounded, but he does.
As for how he looks in person?! Sigh. Simply put, he's drop-dead-gorgeous. Definitely one of my best-looking (if not THE best-looking) male friends I've got. He was wonderful to his fans and very giving and gracious.
Sekh's Party was his first experience being among Stargate Fans en-masse. He came as a favor to me and was totally mobbed for pictures and autographs. He handled it very well and signed every pic and took every pic that was requested. I think it took a bit out of him, but he never let on. He stayed the entire evening as well.
His appearance at Gatecon was "unofficial" and he decided to "drop in" for 2 minutes. I assured him that it wouldn't be simply "2 minutes." LOL He had known that his buddy JR would be going on stage shortly and I think it piqued his curiousity to see how a convention is done and how JR handled the crowd. We walked in unexpectedly. It was amusing how security slowly caught on and began swarming around us. We snuck backstage and then to the side of the auditorium in the dark to watch JR. Colin didn't want to go on stage at first, so as not to steal any time from his friend. As he watched JR, I think he began to really warm up to the entire experience and then he decided, what the hell, and he told me he'd like to sneak up behind JR on stage. I arranged it with security (our beloved Rowan) and sat in the first row while watching this amazing scene unfold. Colin and JR were just incredible and adorable together. I was very proud of Colin, as this was his very first time on stage at a convention in front of fans.
What else can I say. I feel priveleged to know the private Colin as well as the public image. But he is giving, gracious and humble in both aspects of his life. He is loyal to me and Kim and to all his fans, as well as his friends.
JR is also simply gorgeous in person and as sweet as can be. I was lucky enough to win the dog-walk-in-the-park along with Diane and Karen - we went with JR last Tuesday and it was wonderful. The nice thing is that he remembered us into the next night at Sekh's party and then again two days later at the con. It doesn't surprise me that he and Colin are buddies - they both have hearts of gold and no inflated egos.
