technical details ..

i had 2 take notes 2 b able 2 reply 2 all the things i read in this string.

its presumed that jaffa staffs and zats dont run out (or if they do they take a vary long time) because of what thet slave trader guy said in the 5th season episode about how guns run out unlike the staffs and the zats they used.

they must be running on something, and someone said naquedah. i think it probably is.

some1 else said something about the exhaustion of naquedah mines and therefore bringing down the system lords. THINK ABOUT HOW MANY PLANETS THERE ARE OUT THERE! THINK ABOUT HOW MUCH NAQUEDAH YOU'D HAVE 2 USE 2 USE UP ALL THE NAQUEDAH IN THE GALAXY!!

sorry.

well think about the planets like Earth which don't contain ANY naquadah at all ...............

I think what that person meant was that, since the Gou'ald have (well, presumably) been around since the time of the ancients, and using LOTS of naquadah in the thousands of millions of years since they started conquering planets and forcing labour on the locals, it's likely that they're coming near the end of the supply of naquadah galaxy-wide.

Well, we don't know if it is QUITE that long, since the film was started about 10,000 ago... which is significantly more recent than even one million years. And although those little green bulb things that go in staff weapons may run out (did it run out when removed for powering the Energy Generator?) we don't know how long they take before needing re-charging. Perhaps not very long - we have never seen Teal'c's staff-weapon needing charging - and that would be an interesting plot or side-plot: either: weapon fails when crucial, OR, the need to get more suitably processed green bulb/naquadah.

uh, but would that really be necessary considering every time they beat up a bunch of jaffa, they really end up with like that particular amound of staff weapons since dead/unconcious jaffa prob can't stop them taking it ........ :p:D

Yeah, what's up with that; why don't they retrieve staff weapons/zats from dead Jaffa's and try to study them, maybe see how they work, and then reverse engineer them?

Even collecting enemy munitions could help them in their fight against the Gou'ald. :D

OR MAYBE they don't do that out of principle: i.e. they don't want to become like the NID (stealing advanced alien technology to further humankind's scientific knowledge)

or the gou'ld (stealing any tech to further themselves) ...........

I don't think ethnics are involved. I think they DO take the weapons from dead jaffa, because there are zats and staffs in the SGC. It's probably just because Air Force units preffer their guns (S5 Warrior).

P.S. if you haven't seen "Warrior", you can download it from sg1archive. It's a pretty good episode.

btw, in solitudes, more tech details .......... they use a freq. dampener to limit the vibrations the gate gives off ......... :D

Maybe that's what the big bases are for that you seeon almost all offworld stargates - to hold back seismic vibrations. But what does that have to do with anything else in this thread?

aaaaah. :erm:are you alergic to staying on one topic?

Would adrenaline injections help THAT particular allergy?

But can boredom (or excitement) be bottled, and thus injected?:p

Huh !? Who do U think I am !?!? Linea - Destroyer of Worlds ?!!?

:D :D :rolly2:
