Anthropologists aren't the only scavengers around. Presume so but with the same cautions that primatologists use the terms. Usualy not to refer to hierarchial ranking but some time of appearance or siting order as rank in primates has a lot to do with time, situation and preference. We usually call them high ranking, medium ranking or low ranking (or status) with in a all male group or all female group or mixed group as rank can change markedly and rapidly depending on the situation.
