I'll add mine when Ive seen some others posted here...

favorite characters

My favorites are,Captain Picard. In my opinion he is one of the best Captains because he was so serious ,yet at the same time when he showed his soft side it made you like him even more.I also liked Worf,His struggle to be completlely Klingon and not to show any human traits, but then act human in his weaker moments ,made him one of my favorites.I loved Data because of his comic relief,he could be so funny and his contantly trying to fit in and be human made him one of my favorites. Oh wow, difficult to say.

Picard: He was an extremely good captain, could be human without losing sight of his command, he could command without losing sight of his humanity, he was intelligent, sophisticated, wise, humble, fiercely protective, and brave.

Data: Was more human than the rest simply because he wasn't. I know, doesn't make sense, but to me it does.

Whoopie Goldberg's character: I really enjoyed every episode that she was in.

The rest, well, all just kind of fell into it. I couldn't see an episode without them though.

Cheers,

favorite tng characters?

picard: for all the reasons mentioned above. he was very intelligent, responsible, and high principled. his authority came not simply from being the captain, but also from the respect everyone had for him. he led by example. his character was well-rounded and we often got to see glimpses of his many interests---music, reading, archaeology, etc. This was great, because it further demonstrated his interest in life and learning new things. He was also willing to consider suggestions from those around him without ever appearing indecisive. patrick stewart made the character appear more "real" by adding consistent mannerisms, e.g. the tug on the tunic when standing up.

data: this character was perfect for making us stop and think what it really means to be human. he was also responsible for many of the funny moments on tng.

deanna troi: i always thought it was interesting that she was an empath. i think to a lesser degree, we are all capable of being sensitive to the feelings of those around us

little star :)

my fav in tng has to be riker, he's serius, determined
and sometimes funny, and when he smiled you could almost
see his lovely blue eyes twinkle...peachy

I'm a big fan of the whole ensemble of TNG. The early episodes especially are still so watcheable because of the quality of the acting, even though they are not "exciting" plots by the standards of the recent DS9/Voy stuff.

I'd have to pick out Picard as the star of the show, for the same reasons as little star!
Worf is also one of my fave's, and it showed how DS9 lifted when he arrived..

Favourite stars

Hi, my favourite star on TNG was Whoopi Goldberg playing Guinan. I am a ggreat fan of hers anyway, boasting to have quite a few of her films and her biography. My favourite episode was the one in which Guinan, Ensign Roe, Capt. Picard and Keiko were turned into children. The young girl who played Guinan was a good actress, she made it believable that Whoopi would act that way. Anybody else agree or disagree with me?

Hi There

to the board ...:)

I agree with you Annetshort, Whoopi Goldberg is indeed an exceptionally talented actress and the young actress Isis Jones who played the young Guinan in the TNG episode Rascals was also the same one who played the young Deloris Van Cartier in sister Act.
I was also impressed with the young Ro Laren played by Megan Parlen she was very beleivable as the Bajoren child.

But by far my favorite is Commander Worf there is something about the whole Klingon persona and lifestyle that just facinates and intrigues me.

fave character i can't get it down 2 1 so i'll mention a few.
Geordi and data. i like like convos between them the way geordi would always try and explain stuff 2 data. actually wesley was also good at that. & data always took it slightly the wrong way.
Q. i always liked those episodes cause i thought he had a good way of makin the episode more interesting.

can't think of ne more at the min

It would have to be Worf. Although he started off with very little to do except look burly, he developed so much character and background later on that whole episodes were set around his character and values. They sketched in all of that Klingon Mythology stuff, which DS9 and Voyager have built on, and he became part of some of the most amusing scenes in TNG. When he went to DS9 it really helped bring them up to steam as well, although I think they ran out of new stories to give him eventually. I was happy about the way Worf's character arc ended on DS9 though. The Deanna Troi relationship was a mistake.

Hiya little star
nice 2 know im not alone.
i think worf and deanna shouldn't of happened either

i thought worf and deanna were a bad idea as well, i feel she wasn't strong enough, ( as a person) for him,
worf and dax (jadzia) were better suited i think...peachy

I agree, Worf and Jadzia were better, they never explained the end of the Worf-Troi thing, except that when the Enterprise-D was trashed, and WOrf went back to the Klingon Empire for some meditaion etc, and then moved to DS-9. (He probably couldn't have coped with *that* mother-in-law anyway :D)

I can't think of any, but were there any Worf-Troi secens in "Generations"?

Worf and Deanna

Thinking back and without watching the Film I don't think there were any scenes with Worf and Deanna together. Annette.

Worf and Deanna

I think Deanna was wrong for Worf, it just didn't work the way Worf and Jadzia did.
But also I quite liked the Imazadi thing with Riker, especially when they added Thomas Riker to the mix. There could have been more stories there, Deanna could have resigned and joined the Maquis, for instance.

I didn't understand why the writers chose to develop a relationship between Troi and Worf. I liked both of these characters individually, but there seemed to be no reason to get them together. Sometimes two characters can be very different, but complement each other, but I didn't feel that was the case here.

I agree that the end of the Troi/Worf relationship wasn't that well defined (at least in my memory). It just seemed to have fizzled out.

As for Deanna Troi, I thought Riker was a much more appropriate match for her. I thought they made a good couple, and it seemed like their attraction for each other was never completely extinguished.

I agree that Jadzia Dax was a better match for Worf. She seemed "strong" enough for Worf. They had some things in common, but were different enough to provide interest.

i liked deanna and riker together as well, definatly much better, they did get back together in insurrection though...peachy

My favorite character of TNG will have to be Worf. I like he's attitude and it was
great to see him mellow a little. I was pretty cool also to see his relation with
Jadzia. They make a great couple, different but great. Love also that they
introduce the character to DS9, that make DS9 better for me.
