is the rest of the world up over?

anyways.... we love our beautiful country, but why? Is it because we are ahead in time of the rest of the world (excuse NZ)?? Or is it because we 'ave Roos and an Outback? why?

We love living Down Under because the weather is great (most of the time), the people are great, the beaches are great, the environment is so diverse (from rainforests, to mountains and the bush), we're all pretty friendly, our animals are cute and there are a heap more other reasons that you can't explain except to say that AUSTRALIA ROCKS!.....

nah you like it cos you are stuck there :) the beaches i would agree with.. great barrier reef as well i want to see that.

yeah great beaches!
mainly because everyone is nice, and there is no (not much) violence and we are away from the rest of the world!

padders....... your just jealous padders :) by the way, hows the weather over there? SNOWING YET? :)

two words

The Beach. :D

Oh and the two words start from the, not from two, if ya get my meaning ;)

well, people would probably argue about this, but i think that Tasmania is the nicest state in Aus, the rainforests, beaches, local communities, everything (nearly) about Tassie is beautiful. But im not saying the rest of Aus isn't as well, i especially love Sydney, and the gold coast, personally i have no plans to go overseas until i see all of Australia first :) we are just so damn friendly!!

weeeeell, I have never been to Tassie so I couldn't say whether it is the nicest or anything, but, when I went to Europe on music tour last year, there weren't too many places that Australia couldn't compete with :)

well South Australia is probably the crappest state :)
"The driest state in the driest country"
It's just desert with a bit of rainforest near Mt Gambier !

have you guys heard of a city called 'Whyalla'?

nope havn't heard of that one. martouf, is that where you live?
has anyone heard of a city called Devonport? thats where i live. its an okay place.

Well, I live in a suburb called armadale which is in Perth :) but no I haven't heard of Devonport either. Geography wasn't really my strong suit at school :D

great to see another aussie in the forums :)
geography wasn't my strong suit either, but i have heard of armadale!

devonport is the city right at the top of Tasmnia, its nothing compared to geelong or the gold coast, but its nice.

Devonport is a great town. Lived their for 18 months. It was a shame we had to come back to South Australia. Also i lived in George town. Not a bad place.

Armidale... Hehe i have an aunty that lives near there.

Whyalla.... Sounds very Familiar. If I know it, it must be a crap place ;)

But y'all are all right sayin Australia is such a great place :)

Corzafa - where abouts in devonport did you live? i live in spreyton.

I LOVE AUSTRALIA!!!

[While I write this SBS news announced "America reels after another mass murder!" Hey, what a place! Don't get that here on almost a weekly basis.]

The people, the (general) friendliness, the weather, the countryside, the cities, the political system, the stability, the even-ness, even the apathy.

It's diverse, there's so many sub-cultures, we've managed to stay generally out of trouble, no-body bothers about us because we're soooo far away and we're (mostly) harmless.

The old adage that "travelling overseas makes you appreciate your own country (ie Oz) all the more" is true. I love where I've been (New Caledonia, Fiji, NZ, Canada and all over the US). I think they're all really great places and I'm very glad to have been there. I even think I understand the Americans (they only make sense when you see them in context) but when everything gets taken into consideration no matter what the Yanks may tell you:

AUSTRALIA IS GOD'S OWN COUNTRY

[I grew up in Sydney, lived in Tamworth in NSW for the last 15 years, my parents live at the back of the Gold Coast, I have a cousin and other family in Cairns and in Perth. My husband also has family in Launceston. We've got the country covered.]

yeah Whyalla is where i live, it's like the 2nd biggest city in SA only got about 20,000 though!

nope i have only ever heard of 2 places in Tas; hobart and launceston!
