For those who like Dean Koontz

Am on the same page as Tanga when it comes to Dean Koontz. I love some of his books and others I have to force myself to finish. My favourite is a collection of stories called Strange Highways. I also like the Odd Thomas books quite a bit and have been reading them as they come out.

I find that I like his books a lot better when I do not read them back to back. If they are read with several months in between it helps a great deal since in several cases the plots run along the same lines and involve terrible things in small, sleepy towns.

*Odd Thomas spoiler*

Am I the only one that thought the ending to odd Thomas was just a bit too much of a rip-off of The 6th Sense? I had been enjoying it till then and I suppose it worked for the story but it really bugged me at the time.

Fear Nothing was another one I enjoyed a lot, similar to Odd the second one was ok but not quite as strong and I'm still looking forward to the third one if it's ever released. Lightning and Midnight were both pretty good as well and the re-release of Demon Seed was ok, though I'm glad it was a short novel.

I like Koontz's slightly more cartoonic horror/suspense, the plots aren't always the most hole-proof but they're an easy read and fun to pick one up in between other books.

Read a few Koontz. My favourite is Watchers. Loved Einstein the dog.

I have ordered The Husband by him so i hope its like Odd Thomas high quality book.

I can remember enjoying Twilight Eyes and Watchers and the story has stuck with me, but some of his others I have read I can't recall

Watchers is my favorite Koontz book. I think over the years, I've read just about every Koontz book I could get my hands on. For some reason I continually go back to his books even though, I too, am just as often disappointed as not. I've read the first Frankenstein recently - that is another one I liked.
