New Ground, The First Commandment and Upgrades

yeah i must admit i love this happy, safe, and free country myself. except for when the television networks **** me off, then i get mad.

like a snowballs chance in hell. channel 7 are so protective of their ****, they wouldn't give anything up unless it was of benefit to them.

Australian broadcasting standards are so ****. They put anything on TV here and expect us to watch it. And they know they can get away with it cos no one ever gets up and complains about what low standards they have. I doubt other networks around the world would ***** around with their viewers the way the Aussie networks do. What Channel 7 has done with Stargate is appalling. If they don't mess up the order, they take it off halfway through a season and we're supposed to accept that. At the moment we're getting season one again until they are ready to continue with Season 4. I don't mind so much but it's just really frustrating! Not to mention confusing sometimes. When season 4 finally does come back on with "The First Ones", I will have to try and remember everything that happened up until "Watergate". It's just a real pain in the ass. But it's also all we have so I guess you just have to accept it that way. How many people really have the energy to seriously complain about it.

what could they really do if channel 9 started play repeats?

for starters channel 7 would sue them. when they purchase a program, they get the EXCLUSIVE rights to it, like the olympics, and if some other network in the same country re broadcasts it without permission, then they must wear the consequences. but in some countries, the rights are split e.g. the u.k. the pay tv channel sky one has rights to the new episodes and repeats, whilst the FTA channel 4 has just repeats rights. it can get really technical, and i cant be bothered writing about it now.

well couldn't they... call it something else? "Travels through the round thing" :)

funny idea, but i dont think that it would work, u r online now?
did you see in the SMH
(sydney morning herald) that the average audience for the year of stargate is 1.08 million. that means 1 in every 18 people watch stargate! now that is pretty farking good.

yeah, i'm online now, will go into chat

stargate got the showtime records didn't it?

Wow, I never realised so many people watched Stargate here. That's awesome. Thing is, if there are so many people watching, then why does this Australia Board only have a few people who ever visit it.

Maybe they're all not quite as obsessed with it as we are....=)
.....oh well, they're loss!

Yeah, but if you look at it this way: with the lets say to be on the safe side 15 ausies at this forum we each represent about 1.15 million people :)

there are only about 5 of us that post regularly in this SG aussie forum, we are even with Gaters (which is kinda weird since they only have like 400 members, and we have like 1600)

i used to post at gaters for a while, but then i moved over here, and only visit gaters on the of chance i get some time.

i lurk on the aussie gaters, visiting once a week (only for ideas on new threads :))

it was okay, but it is so slow to get a reply. i have made a couple of friends, who i email every now and then, but i like it here.

Can someone please give me the URL for this Gaters thing? I might go and check it out.

hmnmmm..... i dunno you will probably start posting there.....

yeah we (talkstargate.com) should not feel threatened by that site.
