Cockroaches WILL rule the world....

Holly, get's his answers from the 'Juniour Encycolpeadia of Space'

It';s brown trousers time!

Veni, Vidi, Dormisti!

Veni Vidi Vici

Veni Vidi Dormivi
I came, I saw, I slept.

Veni Vidi Fugisti
I came I saw I ran away

Veni Vidi Cecedi
I came I saw I fell over

In my spare time I make up multilingual jokes and insults. Best is translating Jack quotes:)

and there is:
Veni, vermini, vomui
I came, I got ratted, I threw up
Visi, veneri, vamoosi
I visited, I caought an embarassing disease, I ran away.

These are from "Jingo" by Terry Pratchett. So they probably aren't right.

veneri is just from 'veneral' and vamoosi certainly in't Latin. Hey Shaun why not visit the Pratchett forums in books? I love to discuss Pratchett, plus there's Rankin too if you like him.

I'm stil working on 'we don't ever have existed here anymore' LOL.... what a tense...

Yeah, I pretty much guessed he made it up when I read
Vammosi. But still I thought it was pretty funny. And thanks for reminding me Skip, I haven't been to the Pratchett forum in a while.

We don't ever have existed anymore?!? Good grief! That's going to have to be a future perfect subjunctive I think! :laugh2::laugh2: Wish I could actually remember my Latin. But that was a long time ago in galaxy far, far away.......Uh oh, guess I better head over to the old coots thread......;):lol:

:star::star::star:

couldn't get over the fact in french t'other day i was only one who knew what a passive was!!!!! geez! t'is dire! and now i've nice little aorists to cope with,..... hm.....

veni, vidi, smegi

:lol::laugh2::) Skip! Just saw veni, vidi, smegi! Good one! Shall we conjugate our smeg?

smego, smegas, smegat, smegamus, smegatis, smegant.
Did I get that right? It's been SOOOOO long since I took Latin.

Teehee!

:star::smile::star:

correct!
smegebam smegebas smegebant smegebamus smegebatis smegebant!

(how to learn latin verbs... stick smeg in front and you will do it.. hmm some strange pshychology...)

:lol::)

I think you're on to something there! If I conjugated and declined smeg I'd have so much fun I'd have to remember it all!:) Mind you, it was 21 years ago when I last declined or conjugated.

smegabam--I smegged in the past, right?

Okay, now maybe Skip will do the first declensions for me? :kisses: Help jog the old smegger's memory?

It was tough but I voted for Rimmer - he sort of sums up the Red Dwarf spirit for me, but then they all do I guess. Oh decisions, decisions . . . ;)

On the Kristine debate - I like the first one better, but that's not to take anything from Chloe. I'm just not good with change. :p

Yeah, I like Chloe, too. I think she does great comedy acting, very subtle at times. But I'm sort of partial to the first Kochanski also. She seems more like Lister's "type." I like that Chloe/Kochanski is her own person though.

ohhhh! i finally finished latin! thankgod! i start y10 in september and i definately did not choose latin:D HATE IT!:D

although red dwarf latin is funny :rolly2: :rolleyes:
